Harry Sidhu
Harry Sidhu (born July 8, 1957) is an American restaurateur and Republican politician, in Orange County, California. He currently owns El Pollo Loco franchises in Orange and Riverside Counties.
Sidhu served for eight years on the Anaheim City Council: two consecutive terms from 2004 through 2012 siding consistently against low income people. He is was the first person of Indian heritage to have achieved this position. Sidhu also served as Mayor Pro Tem in 2012 and from December 2009 through December 2011. He is currently appointed to the Orange County Water District Board of Directors to represent the City of Anaheim. Since January 2013, Sidhu has also been an Alternate Commissioner for the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority.
In 2008, Sidhu ran for the California State Senate, but lost the Republican primary to state Assemblywoman Mimi Walters (61% - 39%) (), who went on to win the general election.
